Sharon Joyce Morgan

Sharon Joyce Morgan, age 72, of Columbus, GA passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 6, 1952 in Columbus, GA and raised by her parents, Martin Stanford and Lucille (Gee) Stanford.

Sharon and her family attended at a local Baptist church where she was saved by the Lord when she was 17 years old. She worked in the medical field as a registration representative for 35 years. She worked for 25 years at the Medical Center, 7 years at the Doctor’s Hospital, and at other facilities. She enjoyed family dinners, caring for her family, going fishing with her best friend, Diane and baking. She really enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved drinking coffee and sweet tea every day.

Sharon was recently baptized at Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, GA and she will remain in the hearts and minds of those that love her.

Survivors include her children, Tony (Allison) Stanford, Barbra (Jeff) Schlagel and Amy Powell; her grandchildren, Kristin (Austin) Allen, Emily Morgan, Jacob Stanford, Jeffrey Schlagel Jr., Haley Powell and Justin Powell; her great-grandchildren, Anderson Allen, Asher Allen, Emmett Dionne and Lyla Dionne. Sharon was preceded by her parents, Martin Stanford and Lucille (Gee) Stanford; by her sisters, Janet Gibson, Arlene Parisi; and also by her brothers, Jack Stanford, Richard Stanford and Larry Stanford.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at The Church in the County, 12289 GA-315, Cataula, GA 31804 on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 2:00PM.
