Mrs. Pearce was born on October 12, 1922 in Columbus, GA to her parents, Oscar Lee Hamby and Mary Alice Robinson. She married James Pearce and the couple adopted a baby daughter, Sherrill Ann Lee. Susie moved to Virginia with her daughter after her husband passed and spent most of her life working as an au pair for her grandchildren as well as for a close family friend.
Mrs. Pearce is survived by her grand-daughter and grandson-in-law, Amanda and John Caviness III of Bayfield, CO; her grand-son and granddaughter-in-law, James and Anna Lee of Chesapeake, VA; and her great grand-daughter, Bonnie Lee also of Chesapeake, VA. She is preceded in death by her husband, James and her daughter, Sherrill Lee.
Mrs. Pearce will be buried next to her husband on October 20, 2018 at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA. A grave side ceremony will take place on October 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Susie Pearce’s life.
