

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, GA. with Reverend Bud Rupel officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service in the Edgewood Hall. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Bonin was born in Sharpsburg, GA. on November 21, 1937 to the late, Charles H. Furlow and Kate Vaughn Furlow. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus and a member of Evangel Temple.
Jean was a military wife who lived with her family in various parts of the world. Once settled in Columbus, Georgia, Jean cared for her disabled Veteran husband, raised her children, and worked as a pre-K teacher at Children's Friend. After the passing of her husband, Jean found companionship in Marshall Belk, Jr. with whom she shared a deep love of life and the Lord. Jean valued her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ and was always willing to share His love with friends and strangers alike.
Her husband O’Niel J. Bonin, Sr. siblings, Irene Furlow, Doris Wright, Hazel Massey, Alma Phillips and Joyce Henderson and Fiancé, Marshall Belk preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, Charles H. Furlow, Jr of Raymond, GA and her children, O’Niel J. Bonin, Jr and wife Rena of New Iberia, LA, Mark A. Bonin and wife Kathy of Brooksville, FL, Libby Bonin-Campos and husband Michael of Columbus, GA and Kerry W. Bonin of Moultrie, GA, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Serenity Hospice Care in gratitude of their compassionate care.
