
Sybil Doris Clark November 7, 1923 - December 6, 2010 COLUMBUS, GA— Mrs. Sybil Doris Clark, age 87, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary at 1:00 PM. Private burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Columbus Hospice at www.columbushospice.com or the hospice of your choice. Mrs. Clark was born in Geneva County, AL on November 7,1923 to the late Rev. Foster Wesley Bolin and Janette Box Bolin. She was a member of Hilton Terrace Baptist Church and retired from Bell South after many years of service. Mrs. Clark was also a member of the Business and Professional Women of Columbus, the George Walton Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the American Colonists, the Major Peter Field Chapter of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Lizzie Rutherford Chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy and Telephone Pioneers of America. She was preceded in death by her husband Durward Riley Clark and three brothers, Jerome Bolin, Perry Bolin, and Harry Bolin. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, David Alan and Fran Clark, formerly of Columbus, now residing in Panama City Beach, FL and Daniel Lewis and Barbara Clark of Columbus; six grandchildren, Ashley C. Whitman (Jason) of Columbus, Philip J. Clark of Columbus, Dale E. Clark, Claire C. Connolly (Will) of Birmingham, AL, David Clark, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and Matthew Zahn of Phoenix, AZ; two great-grandchildren also survive.
