
Sylvia was a devoted mother whose patience and kindness knew no bounds. Her children were the center of her world, and she nurtured them with unwavering love and endless support. Sylvia loved to laugh and reminded those around her that joy could be found in the simplest moments.
Hardworking in every stage of her life, Sylvia approached challenges with determination, resilience, and grace. She put her whole heart into the things she cared about. With a strong work ethic and an unwavering belief in doing things the right way, she set an example that inspired everyone around her.
Sylvia is survived by children, Kristen Swindall Everett and husband Erik, Matthew Swindall; Sister Lydia Favara Murtaugh and husband Joe; nieces, Marissa Murtaugh, Andrea Murtaugh Pulliam and husband Brent; nephew David Murtaugh and great niece Claire Zina Pulliam; and extended family in Omaha Nebraska.
Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of gentleness and love. Those who knew her will forever carry the memory of her open heart, her patience, her humor, and the way she embraced life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
The family will receive friends for a visitation and rosary at 6:00-7:00 p.m., with rosary commencing at 6:00 on December 9, 2025, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Church of the Holy Family, with Fr. Ben Dallas officiating.
