Teresa was an unwavering source of love, compassion, and strength. She was born on February 14, 1952 in Hartford, Alabama to the late George and Maggie Mae Ward.
Teresa was the heart and soul of her family. A beloved wife of 53 years, mom, sister, aunt, grandmama, and friend. She loved God, her family, cooking, crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, and singing the gospel. Throughout her life she embodied warmth, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her legacy, spirit, and unconditional love will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband and lifelong companion Donald Golden. Her children Sherri Irions (Danny), Dawn Ripple (Harry), and Duane Golden (Brandi). Her siblings Jeanette Smith (Dennis), George Ward, Jeanell Miller (Danny), and Billy Ward (Sherry). Her grandchildren Tiffany Hutcherson, Brittany West, Haley Morford, Devin Ripple, Maddox Golden, and Owen Ripple. As well as her great-grandchildren Micah Iannarelli, Makenna Iannarelli, Lori Morford, Nolan West, Ellory West, and Ryder Hero. Teresa was also cherished by her abundance of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents George Washington and Maggie Mae Ward. Siblings Jack Ward, Jean Hall, Ray Ward, Grady Ward, and Leroy Ward.
To honor Teresa's life, a visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia, 31907. Her celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, with Brother Gerald Corbin officiating. Teresa will be laid to rest at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia, 31907, following the service.
