

Thomas Jefferson Farmer, Jr. August 1, 1936- October 15, 2015 Columbus, GA- Thomas Jefferson Farmer, Jr., 79, of Columbus, GA passed away surrounded by his loving family October 15, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House. He was born August 1, 1936 in Shorterville, AL to his late parents Thomas and Janie Farmer. Mr. Farmer was retired as Principle of Britt David Elementary School. He is a Member and Deacon at Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL; volunteered at St. Francis Hospital, and as a Marshall at Bull Creek Golf Course. The family will receive guests for visitation Sunday, October 18, 2015 3:00-5:00 pm in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. Graveside services will be Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, with Pastor Rob Goodman of Summerville Baptist Church officiating. Along with his parents, Mr. Farmer is preceded in death by his brother Norman Farmer. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pat Farmer; one daughter, Jane Anne (Jim) Devitt of Columbus; two sons, Tim (Jamie) Farmer of Columbus, and Brent Farmer of Columbus; grandchildren, Costa (Thomas) Head, Marianna Farmer, Sarah Beth Guidry, and Brooks Farmer; nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
