A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service. Ms. Smith was born in Brewton, AL on February 14, 1954 to Ben Smith, Sr. of West Point, GA. and the late Betty Cox Smith. She was a life long resident of Georgia.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tabitha D. White of Columbus and Amy D. Gavins and husband, James of Salem, AL; a sister, Elaine Batson and husband, Kenneth of Canton, GA; two brothers, Ben Smith, Jr. of Brewton, AL and Donald Smith and wife, Taffee of Beulah, AL; and four grandchildren, Traci, Jonathan, Brendan, and Justin Gavins.
