Vi was born January 9, 1926 in Albany, New York; the daughter of William A McCumber, and Eva Mae (Bartow) McCumber. On January 13, 1945 at Our Lady of Angels, Albany NY, Vi married Ralph William McCullough Sr. Ralph served in the U.S. Army, shortly after their marriage they moved to France and then settled in Columbus, GA. She was able to attend and earn an Associate’s Degree from Chattahoochee Valley Community College. Vi was raised Catholic and arriving in Columbus, she became a Life Long Member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Eucharistic Minister for OLOL, and member of OLOL Choir. She found great joy in volunteering and serving others when she was able in various capacities, such as reading to her daughter’s students, being active in the PCCW- Parish Council of Catholic Women, she taught Adult and Children’s Catechism Classes, taught ceramic classes at Ft. Benning Officer’s Arts and Crafts Center and Our Lady of Lourdes School, she volunteered at Our Lady of Lourdes School as Librarian, as a substitute teacher, and a kindergarten after-school teacher, and her volunteer work through the Knights of Columbus, as a wife of a Grand Knight. After Ralph’s passing Vi became a paraprofessional for five years with the Muscogee County School District. Vi was able to surround herself with lifelong friends, she realized what a blessing they were. She was an avid music lover, especially gospel, and old classic country music, and was a talented member of Our Lady of Lourdes Choir. She had a passion for traveling throughout the US and abroad; those trips were only made better by being able to do so with her sister-in-law, her beloved, "Sis" Elizabeth McCumber!
