She was born in Columbus, Georgia daughter to the late Waurene Yarbrough Green and Charlie E. Green. Zonelle was a Jordan Vocational High School graduate. She worked for many years in administration for the state of Georgia, Rehabilitation Services. Zonelle loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and considered them her universe. She was Christian by faith and a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church. She was in the Joyful Fellowship Sunday School class. After Zonelle retired from the state, she worked part time at Wynnbrook in the office. Zonelle enjoyed dancing and she shared the dance floor with her longtime friend and companion, Bobby Waldrep.
Zonelle leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter Donna Osborne (Randy); her son Steve Taylor (Jennifer); her stepson Scott Taylor; her grandchildren Carrie Jones and Justin Osborne (Stephania); her great grandchildren Katie Jones, Jake Jones, and Aria Osborne; her brother Herman Green (Audrey) and family; her longtime friend and companion Bobby Waldrep, his daughter Dana Childs (Greg) and grandchildren Brooke and Baylen; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A service to celebrate Zonelle’s life will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia 31907 with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and after the service in the Mill Room at Striffler-Hamby with light refreshments. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
