CW2 (Ret) Robert M Cordell, age 75, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020. In keeping with efforts to assure the safety and health of our community during the current virus pandemic, the family will hold a private graveside service.
Robert was born April 20, 1944 in Waynesville, North Carolina to Kathleen Shipman Cordell and Thomas Franklin Cordell. He served proudly in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Robert was a long time volunteer with Girl Scouts and Brown Bag of Columbus. He loved traveling, helping others and sharing memories of Oma.
Robert is survived by his wife, Irmgard Cordell; daughter, Michaela Coleson; brother, James Cordell; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is his father, Thomas Franklin Cordell; mother, Kathleen Shipman Cordell; brother, Jerry Cordell; and sister, Shirley Reilly.
He will be remembered as a great husband and father, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
