William Noah Knight

W.N. “Bill” Knight Sr. was born December 29, 1937 in Halesburg Alabama son of Cam Knight and Ethel Peterson Knight. Known by many of his childhood friends as W.N. and also know by many of his business friends as “Bill”, he grew up in Columbus GA. and attended Jordan High School. W.N. was a spark plug and never met a stranger and he always had a strong drive to excel and achieve in order to provide a better future for his family, and he saw sales and hard work as his avenue to do this. He quickly began his sales career working at Chuck Hutton Dodge in Columbus where he discovered he had a natural knack for sales and quickly became one of their top auto salesmen. He later turned his sales career from Auto sales to Insurance where he went to work for Pennsylvania Life and Reserve Life Insurance Company. He quickly became Top Rookie, Top Salesman and then moved to management where he stayed for years and excelled in his field and was known by many as a Master Salesman.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mildred E. (Mickie) Knight of Columbus, two sons: William N. (Bill) Knight Jr. (Wife Alisa) of Cataula GA. Anthony O. (Tony) Knight (wife Debbie) of Midland GA, nine grandchildren: David M. Slocumb, Jr., Whitney K. Shaffer, Astin K. Miller,

Anthony O. (Andy) Knight, William C. (Chance) Knight, Morgan D. Knight, Kyle W. Knight, Summer S. Knight, Sydnee S. Knight and five great grandchildren.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at North Highland Church in Columbus GA. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:30 at the church, according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, GA.
