William "W.L." Perkins

William L. “WL” Perkins, 72, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 in the Mill Room.

W.L. was born on January 23, 1953, to Evelyn and Marvin Perkins in Cairo, Georgia. He spent 25 years working as a Dock Worker at Southeastern Freight where he then retired from. In his free time, he enjoyed watching and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. The family would like to thank Magnolia Manor of Buena Vista and Georgia Hospice for their compassion during his illness.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debbie Wood Perkins; his daughter, Lesley Perkins (Roy Mills); his grandchildren, Ava Wyatt (Kelsey Kennon), Presley Wyatt and Emma Gaultney; his great grandchild, Evelyn Rose Kennon; his sister, Beverly Jarrell and his brothers, Deryk Perkins, and Jackson Perkins (Carol), brother in law, David Frazier as well as many special nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, M.J. Perkins and Evelyn R. Perkins; his sisters, Gwen Frazier and Brenda Perkins and his brother, Ryner Perkins (Eve) and brother in law, Bill Jarrell.
