Zola Compton Medel "My Moose"

Zola Marie Medel, 90, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015. Zola was born October 17, 1924 to her late parents Robert Lee and Esther Compton in Peach Orchard, AR. She was a manicurist for many years, and had her membership letter at Glen Anthony Baptist Church. Zola loved to fish, play Bingo and card games. Many who knew her will remember her second Monday in December parties.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Zola’s Life Tuesday, October 20, 2015 11:00 am in The Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, followed by a visitation/reception with Reverend Jones Doughton of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Along with her parents, Zola is preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Compton of Columbus, GA; and two sisters, Mina Pickron of Columbus, GA, and Katherine Cray, of AR. She is survived by her daughter Lorraine Ellzey of Wilmington, NC; her son Edward Medel of Monterey, CA; four grandchildren, Steven, Scott, Natalee, and Allison; her sister Polly Hilker of Columbus, GA; three local nieces, Diane Harris, Sandi Sheffield, and Kathi Muse, and many other nieces and nephews spread all over the United States; one great nephew, Scott Lewis; and one great-great nephew, Vaylen Lewis; other family members and special friends, Betth Gardner and Susan Balkcum.
