Ada Lea Williams

Ada L. Williams, 89, passed away from this life October 1, 2020. Ada lived in Columbus, Indiana since she was a small child. She loved her family and they meant everything to her. Her children, Bryan and Lora were blessed to have her as their loving mother and they knew she always wanted the best for them. Ada worked at Children Inc. as a preschool teacher assistant from 1966-1978 and also babysat for several families in Columbus where she made lasting friendships. She enjoyed working with children and truly made a difference in their lives. She retired early to care for her mother, and then to take care of her sweet granddaughters. Later in life, she volunteered at Columbus Regional Hospital for several years. Ada enjoyed family gatherings and visits with friends. She was the family caregiver and was there for anyone that needed her. She loved to read and listen to music, and had a great time shopping for antique treasures and goodies for the grandchildren. She was a lady of faith and an angel among us. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Ada is survived by her daughter, Lora (Steve) Ayers of Columbus; granddaughters, Chelsea Fox (Paul Clear); and Amanda Fox (Brady Clement); great-granddaughters, Madison and Makinzy Clement, all of Columbus; and many family members. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan W. Fox; her husband, Albert Williams; her parents, Cora and Gillis Davis; her brothers, Kenneth and Frank; and her sisters, Loretta, Bonnie, Virginia, and Verla. A special thank you to the staff at Hickory Creek at Columbus for their care and friendship. A Celebration of Life for Ada will be held Monday, October 5 at 3 p.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Sarah Campbell officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour prior from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. In keeping with Indiana guidelines, social distancing must be followed and masks are required. You may also be asked to wait outside due to the social distanced capacity of the funeral home. Ada will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Hickory Creek at Columbus or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
