Ami Dawn Patterson, 56, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Ami was born September 20, 1964 in Columbus, Indiana to parents Jack and Linda Stafford. She was a 1982 graduate of Columbus North High School. After high school, she attended Indiana Business College and majored in Accounting and Business Administration. Throughout the years, Ami worked at PSI, Champus, HRC Roofing, and Paris & Bingham Partnerships. Her job at Paris & Bingham always had a special place in her heart, though. She worked there for several years and in that time, her colleagues became a second family. Ami had an affinity for doing home improvement projects, crafting, and collecting Longaberger baskets. She enjoyed going out with friends, attending concerts, and traveling to the beach. She loved the ocean and particularly enjoyed visiting Cancun and St. Pete Beach, Florida. Ami was especially fond of spending time with her granddaughter Jemma, whom she requested call her 'Aunt Mamie' as she joked that she was “too young to be called 'Grandma'”. Ami is survived by her father, Jack Stafford; her daughter, Ashley Brooks; son, Brock (Rosie) Patterson; her granddaughter, Jemma Smith; brothers, Terry and Jeff Stafford; close friend, Walt DeArmitt; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Stafford; brother, Daryn Stafford; and her grandparents, Elizabeth and Paul Stafford. Ami’s wishes were to spend eternity in the place she loved most. Following cremation, she will be laid to rest at sea in the Gulf of Mexico. Online condolences may be made to Ami’s family by clicking “Add a memory”, below.
