Bruce Ray Montgomery Sr.

He was born May 15, 1920, in Coatsville, Pennsylvania, the son of Elliott and Nancy Jane Pierce Montgomery. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and was a 1937 graduate of Coatsville High School. He was a former letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and managed the Armory Apartments for several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Bruce is survived by longtime companion, Alice Purtlebaugh of Columbus; son, Bruce (Pattie) Montgomery Jr. of Broomfield, Colorado; grandchildren, Sean Montgomery of Iowa and Rhiannon (Dallas) Reynolds of El Paso, Texas; great-grandson, Wyatt Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Helen Montgomery; five sisters; and two brothers.

In keeping with his wishes Bruce was cremated. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street.
