Carolyn Wint Simmons

She was born May 26, 1926, in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of Carl H. and Ella Westermeier Wint. A medical transcriptionist for 26 years at Columbus Regional Hospital, she was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she sang in the women’s choir. She liked to read, orchestra music and traveling. In early years she enjoyed bicycle riding and walking.

She is survived by sons, Brent (Celeste) Simmons and Jay (Gloria) Simmons of Columbus; daughter, Dianne (Bob) Dayhuff of Gosport, IN; grandchildren, Barrett Brummett and Ryan Simmons of Columbus and Bree (Nathan) Robison of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Paul Richard Wint.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor Mark R. Teike officiating. Calling will be from 11:00 a.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
