He was born December 26, 1964, in Columbus, to Donald R. Brown and Peggy (Newland) Turnmire, who preceded him in death.
Donald worked for several years at Impact Forge before retiring in 2017. A lifelong farmer, he began farming at the young age of five and continued throughout his life with great dedication and pride. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed reading and following sports.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 19 years, Leslie A. Brown; daughter, Lacey (Logan) Siegelin of Columbus; and beloved grandchildren, Landyn and Liberty Siegelin, both of Columbus. He is also survived by his brother, Jeff Turnmire of Elkhart; mother-in-law, Diane Paris of Columbus; sister-in-law, Lisa (Doug) Chaplin of Columbus; brothers-in-law, Jim (Karen) Paris of Westport, and Bob Paris (Brian LeFurgey) of British Columbia, Canada; aunts, Rosemary Thompson, Patty Newland Schulz, and Nancy Brown Poynter; and a nephew, Dylan Turnmire.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Keith Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Donald’s name may be made to the American Lung Association or the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
Donald will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the land, and the deep care he showed for his family and community.
