

He was born on April 23, 1933 in Bartholomew County to Carl F. and Agnes M. Lohr Niemoeller.
Don served his country in the US Air Force, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Don retired from Arvin Industries where his engineering career spanned 35 years. He managed their research and development lab in West Lafayette for 30 years. He returned to Arvin’s headquarters in Columbus for the final five years of his career.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Katherine T. Niemoeller; his children, Donna (Lon) Ahlen of Mulberry, IN, Joe Niemoeller of Glen Carbon, IL, Jill (Mark) Marciante of Eldersburg, MD, Richard (Lora) Niemoeller of Whitefish Bay, WI, and Tom Niemoeller of Akron, OH; a sister, Lois Shoemaker of Vallonia, IL; six grandchildren, Geoffrey (Stephanie) Foster of W. Lafayette, IN, Dillon Foster of Ft. Wayne, IN, Josh and Liana Marciante, Andrew and Megan Niemoeller of Whitefish Bay, WI; and a great-granddaughter, Molly Hackmann.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church, 3201 Central Avenue, with Rev. John Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Whitecreek. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday April 26, 2016 at Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th Street, and on Wednesday from 1 P.M. until service time at the church.
Memorials in Don’s name may be shared with Grace Lutheran Church or the Orphan Grain Train.
