She was born in Washington, Indiana February 4, 1915 the daughter of Charles J. and Leona Callahan Copeland. She married Cecil C. Bogard October 24, 1930 in Lawrenceville, IL; he preceded her in death August 3, 1987.
She was a homemaker; however during the war, 1942 ~1944 she worked for a military shirt maker sewing sleeves on uniform shirts. She was a former member of Veale Creek Baptist Church, Washington, IN; where she was active in the Ladies Missionary Guild. She is presently a member of Community Church of Columbus. She loved working with children and was a former Bible School Teacher.
She is survived by sons, Jack (Barbara) Bogard of Scottsburg, Larry (Anna) Bogard of Columbus; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Mary Lillian Bogard and Betty Hawk; 2 brothers; 3 sisters.
Funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with her son Larry Bogard officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time Monday at the Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the New Veale Creek Cemetery, Washington, Indiana.
