

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with The Rev. Dennis White officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today Monday and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Sandcreek Friends Cemetery South of Columbus.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of South Central Indiana, Columbus Lions Club or Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.
Mr. Loy was born in Bartholomew County on Feb. 14, 1932, the son of Earl and Edna Blanche Hayes Loy. He married Karen J. Helt on Dec. 21, 1962 at Sandcreek Azalia Friends Church and she survives.
He was employed for 35 years at Cummins Engine Company in the shipping department retiring in 1985.
He attended Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and was a member of Model A Restorers Club, Columbus Lions Club and C.R.E.A.K. Club. For many years he was in charge of the Lions Club concession booth at Bartholomew County 4-H Fair. He received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for service to Columbus Lions Club.
Mr. Loy is survived by his wife of Columbus; daughter, Brooke Loy-Chowning of Columbus; and son, David Charles Loy of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Katheryne Thompson.
