

Born near Hope, IN on December 18, 1911, Mrs. Pulse was the daughter of Edward and Lora Rominger Simmons. Following graduation from Hope High School, she attended Indiana Business College in Columbus and worked at the Irwin Union Bank & Trust Company.
She married Earl B. Pulse on June 6, 1937, in Columbus. He preceded her in death June 8, 1959.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harold (Laverne) Simmons and a sister, Mildred (Perry) Doup.
Mrs. Pulse was a member of First United Methodist Church in Columbus and Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann McCray of Columbus, a son, E.B. Pulse of Crothersville, IN, grandchildren, Julie McCray (Tom) King of Columbus, Michael H. (Beth) McCray of Naperville, IL, Eric (Lesley) Pulse of Indianapolis, IN and Bret (Eileen) Pulse of Arvada, CO.
Additional survivors include great-grandchildren Sarah, Ashley and Betsy King, Elise, Michael D. T. and Maddy McCray, and Daniel and Hazel Louise Pulse. Other survivors include nephew, David (Wilma) Doup and family, Diane and Dawn of Columbus, and Carol (Rich) Muller and family, Gregory and Meredith of San Jose, CA.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome. A memorial service will held at First United Methodist Church at a later date. Arrangements were made by Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl St.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Pulse asked that memorials be given to the Ecumenical Assembly/Love Chapel Funds, 311 Center Street, Columbus, IN.
