

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Fr. Clem Davis officiating.
Arrangements were made by Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.
Calling will be from noon until service time Tuesday at the church. A Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

John was born in Jennings County, January 31, 1918, the son of James J. and Sarah M. McCann Wickens. He married Geneva Mae Briggs on June 22, 1954 in Columbus. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2006.
John retired from Cummins Engine Company on February 1, 1983, after 32 years of service. He was a machinist. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the Elks, American Legion, Moose Lodge and South Central Indiana Rose Society.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
John is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Daeger and Virginia Wickens, both of North Vernon, Theresa Bruns of Millhousen and Mabel Byers of Bedford; a brother, Hugh Wickens of Belleville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters, Marjorie and Mary Louise Wickens on March 21, 1912; infant brothers, Phillip and Daniel Wickens; and another brother, James Wickens.
