Louie was born in Columbus May 20, 1943, the son of Virgil and Nellie Burton Burton. He married Sharyn L. Suiter November 27, 1964 in Shelbyville; she survives.
He retired from Cummins Engine Company after 39 years’ service. He was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the Senior Golf League, an avid sports fan enjoying following the I.U. basketball and football teams, Colts, Pacers and Cincinnati Reds.
He is survived by wife, Sharyn L. Burton of Columbus; son, Todd Burton of Columbus; daughter, Melissa (Mark) Hollenbeck of Columbus; sisters, Kathy Bryant, Charlotte (Ron) Weber, Sally (Dave) Barriger and Janie (Ray) Butler all of Columbus; brother, Danny Burton of Columbus; grandchildren Nicholas and Kylee Hollenbeck and Kiersten Burton all of Columbus.
He was preceded by parents; brothers, Allen, Steve and Roger Burton; sisters, Lois Denney and Linda Woodcock.
Funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Thursday Hathaway~Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Donald Spaulding officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
