

Marilyn was born in Kokomo, May 30, 1930, the daughter of the late Glen H. and Florence Fuson Hoppes. She graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School.
She had been employed as a school secretary at Booth-Setser Elementary School, and had been a secretary at both Arvin Industries and Cummins Engine Company. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, American Business Women's Association (ABWA), a charter member of Jayshees, and was also involved with the Girl Scouts and was a member of East Columbus Christian Church.
Marilyn was reared in Madison County and was well-known for her love of art and had taught oil painting for many years. She also enjoyed the art of quilting and gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana J. McKean of Shelbyville, Elaine L. (Gary) Herbert of Columbus and Lisa J. Parker of North Vernon; a stepson, Jefrey L. (Debra) Clark of Ham Lake, Minn.; a sister, Patricia L. (Maurice) Williams of Anderson; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert H. Clark, who she married on March 3, 1973. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2009.
A Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday at First Christian Church in North Vernon following the 1:00 p. m. graveside service at Vernon Cemetery. Ron Bridgewater will officiate. Arrangements were made by Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.
There will be no calling hours.
