

Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Doup worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company and was one of the original partners in Homestead. She was a founding member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church a member of Nautilus Club and a former member and active supporter of 4-H.
She was proud to be a farm wife and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at the farm. She also was an avid bridge and Scrabble player and enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Anne C.S. Marshall officiating, assisted by Tom Hinshaw.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Private burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairlawn Presbyterian Church or Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center.
Arrangements were made by Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.
Born in Hope Sept. 24, 1916, Mrs. Doup was the daughter of Edward and Lora Rominger Simmons. She married Perry Doup April 13, 1940, in Columbus. He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1996.
Survivors include a son, David A. (Wilma) Doup of Columbus; a daughter, Carol D. (Dr. Rich) Muller of San Jose, CA; a sister, Hazel Pulse of Columbus; and grandchildren, Diane and Dr. Dawn Doup of Columbus and Gregory and Meredith Muller of San Jose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Harold Simmons; and a granddaughter, Amy Doup.
