Nancy was born in Escondido, Calif. Sept. 9, 1931, the daughter of Earl and Della
Creech Nay. She married Alva Ernest Lucas on Feb. 19, 1950, in Jackson
County. She was a homemaker and member of Columbus Chapter Order of
Eastern Star and Garden City Church of Christ.
Nancy was a loving and wonderful woman who has completed her life’s
journey to be with the Lord.
Nancy’s smile and gentle ways deeply touched the hearts of her family,
friends and caregivers. She will be remembered for her passion for
crocheting, bird-watching, gardening and homemaking. She will be
terribly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St.
Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis officiating.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th
Street and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. A
prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aging and Community
Services of South Central Indiana or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Nancy is survived by sons, Michael (Meredith) Lucas of Seymour and
Marvin “Andy” (Monica) Lucas of El Paso, Texas; daughters, Marilyn
(Enoch) Morris of Ravenna, Ohio, and Marsha (Steve) Allamanno of
Columbus; grandchildren, Michael Lucas, Katherine Knouff, Jennifer
Freiman, Jason Morris, Alicia Williams and Mark Allamanno; and six
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Helen Hall
and Norma Jean Egland; and brother, Don Nay.
