

Mr. Shaw was born in Louisville, KY. on March 13, 1925, the son of the late David Karon and Henrietta Louella Scott Shaw.
He married Betty L. DeSpain Burns in Taylorsville, IN. on December 08, 1972 and she survives.
Mr. Shaw was a World War II United States Navy Veteran where he served for three years.
He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1989 where he had worked in the factory for twenty-six years.
Mr. Shaw was a member of the Vernon Baptist Church in Vernon, IN. and he attended the Dove Ministries Church in Columbus, IN.
He enjoyed country music and playing the guitar.
The funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Shaw will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 02, 2010 at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with Pastor Mike Newlin and Pastor Tim Streeval officiating.
Calling hours will be on Monday, March 01, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. and from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Tuesday.
In keeping with Mr. Shaw’s wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service at The Columbus Crematory on Pearl St.
Interment of the urn will be at a later date in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or to the American Heart Association.

Along with his wife, Betty of thirty-seven years, Mr. Shaw is also survived by two daughters, Barbara (Alex) Estave of New Orleans, LA. and Judy (Carl) Hall of Lawrence, KS.; two sons, Mike Shaw of New Orleans, LA. and Ralph H. (Sophia) Shaw, Jr. of Goshen, IN.; two step-sons, Marcus Yano of Indianapolis, IN. and Donald (Sharon) Burns of Columbus, IN.; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Mr. Shaw was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy, Carl W. and Harold E. Shaw.
