Robert Lowell “Bob” McClintock, 81, of Columbus, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 23, 2011, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
Born in Medora July 12, 1930, Mr. McClintock was the son of Ralph C. and Flora Meyers McClintock. He married Betty Huber on May 29, 1976. She was the love of his life and his soul mate. Their bodies are once again made whole and they are reunited again in heaven after both suffered in this life with various medical issues.
Mr. McClintock retired from Reliance Electric on July 17, 1992, after 31 years of service. He worked as a Lab Technician in Quality Control in the Metallurgy Lab.
He served in the Korean War as a Rifleman in the 2nd Infantry Division as a Point Scout on patrols and was awarded several ribbons and medals for his services. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church and the Senior Center Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, reader, gardener and sports enthusiast, but his main passion was his family.
Mr. McClintock is survived by daughters, Jackie McClintock-Lucas, Columbus, IN, and Cindy (Dale) Grammer, Elizabethtown, IN; sons, Mark McClintock, Columbus, IN; Duane (Donna) McClintock, North Vernon, IN, Jeff McClintock, Medora, IN, Dan (Tina) Greene, Columbus, IN; and Roger (Michele) Fields, Elizabethtown, IN; grandchildren, Kassi McClintock, Wilma (Ja) Carter, Stephanie Muncy, Gavin (Kaleena) Lucas, Patrick McClintock, Matthew McClintock, Robert McClintock, Rachel (Brad) Wagoner, Clayton McClintock, Katilyn McClintock, Payton McClintock, Stormy (Michael) Wilson, Kirby Grammer, Andrew Fields, Kelly Fields, Carson Greene, Sydney Greene, Sawyer Greene and Carter Greene; great-grandchildren, Brady Wagoner, Audrey McClintock, Zachary Lucas, Breanna Lucas, Isabell Lucas, Morgan Muncy, Marissa Carter, Victoria Carter and Mazey Wilson; brothers, Bill and Jack McClintock of Florida and Jerry McClintock of Mitchell; and sisters, Bev Ackeret of Seymour and Pat Holcomb of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty; his son, Robert Dean McClintock; his parents; a granddaughter, Angie McClintock; a great-grandson, Branson Muncy; and sisters, Wanda Sage, Vivian Messer, Jeanie Temple and Betty Delouche.
