

Ruth Evelyn Graham, born August 12, 1916, daughter of Bessie (Miller) and Clarence Fisher, in Phillipsburg, Ohio, died in Columbus, Indiana February 23, 2011. She was the widow of Gordon D. Graham, radio and television newscaster while living in Danville in the late 1940’s and into the 1950’s while rearing their children. A dedicated servant to her Christian faith, she taught Sunday school classes for several years as a member of the Danville Christian Church. In the early 60’s while living in New York City, Ruth volunteered at the United Nations. She and her husband moved to Lake Bodona, near Mooresville after his retirement. She was a faithful member of the Monrovia United Methodist Church and an active member of Tri Kappa Sorority.
Ruth was the mother of James (Roberta) of Brownsburg; Joan Able (Walter) of Columbus, Indiana; Robert (now deceased) (Virginia) of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Charlotte Pierson Sherfey of Danville. She was the grandmother of ten, great grandmother of twenty and great great grandmother of two.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Monrovia United Methodist Church with inurnment in the Whitelick Cemetery near Mooresville. Myers Funeral Service in Columbus is handling arrangements.
