Theodore "Ted" Anderson passed away peacefully just shy of 93 at Traditions in Columbus, IN on October 9, 2023. He was born in, Richmond Hill, Long Island, New York on November 16, 1930. He attended Valparaiso University and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While attending Valpo, he met the love of his life Joyce Agle. They married in June 1954 after Joyce graduated. He was drafted by the Army and had to put his new marriage on hold. When he returned from Okinawa, he and Joyce adopted their two children Gail and Glen. He worked at Procter and Gamble, Monsanto, and Cosco/Dural. Ted lived in Cincinnati, Louisville and Columbus during his lifetime. He was very dedicated to always having a church home. Throughout his life, he volunteered as treasurer, usher captain, sound tech, and president of different congregations. He also fervently donated his time to Kiwanis Club, Book Buddies, Jr Achievement, and Meals on Wheels. He also took great passion in traveling, sailing trips, and his hobbies. After 52 years of marriage, Joyce was called home by Jesus. Fortunately, Ted found his second wife, Donna Alig Anderson, at an Investment Club Meeting. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Agle Anderson; his brother Norman Anderson; and his mother and father. He is survived by his second wife Donna Anderson; his two children Gail Gustafson (Joel) and Glen Anderson (Jane); Donna's three children, Bob Alig (Shari), Cheryl Gomez Barber (Jerry), and Carol Swaim; and his grandchildren, Alisha Ayers, Lucas Gustafson (Paige), Jessica Carnes (Ryan), Jacob Gustafson, Gage Anderson, and Carrie Anderson. The Celebration of Life will be held on October 19, at 11:00 am, at Hathaway-Myers Chapel with Pastors Tim Carter and Mark Teike officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to service time. Following the service, Ted will be put to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Grace Lutheran Church Foundation (GLCF). Ted was such a generous soul with a devilishly handsome smile and will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Please share a fond memory or condolence for the family at www.Hathaway-Myers.com.
