Velma Marie Carmichael

Born March 27, 1929, in Brownstown, she was the daughter of Elmer and Elsie Cole Sterling. She married James Lyle Carmichael Nov. 6, 1948, in Brownstown. He preceded her in death March 16, 2000.

Mrs. Carmichael was a member of First Christian Church, Ladies Bible Circle of the church, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was an avid bargain hunter. She was retired from Cummins Engine Company.

Survivors include a son, Jamie (Kathy) Carmichael of Cincinnati, OH; daughters, Caren J. (Donald) Senesac of Brown County and Cynthia J. (Phillip) Krueger of Brown County; a sister, Wanda I. Graham of Columbus; grandchildren, Matthew (Carmen) Senesac of Brown County, Melissa Carmichael and Christy (Kwame) Acheampong of Cincinnati, Amy (Rick Morrow) Senesac of Indianapolis and Ilya Krueger of Atlanta, GA ; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband, and brothers, Wayne and Bill Sterling

Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, with calling from 1 p.m. until service time. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
