

Bill was born in Milan, IN to William Jon Henry and Lelia (Schrader) Erfmeier on April 16, 1945. Bill graduated from Jac-cen-del High School in Osgood, IN. He married Lois Ann (Legenhause) Erfmeier on December 5, 1964 in Napoleon, IN.
Bill worked in various roles at Cummins Inc. for 25 years. After working at Cummins, he worked at ACME Electric Supply, Bartholomew County REMC and ultimately retiring from Kirby Risk as an inside salesman.
Bill was heavily involved in the local American Legion Post 24, where he served in leadership roles in the SAL (Sons of the American Legion). He was also instrumental in leading the efforts of the Wreathes Across America project when in December every year, wreathes are placed on the gravesites of our Military Veterans at the numerous cemeteries across the county. He volunteered countless hours of his time at the Legion working there and helping with fund-raising events over the past several years.
His wife, Lois; his parents, Bill and Lelia Erfmeier; and his best friend and brother-in-law, Mike Koester, preceded Bill in death.
Bill is survived by his special friend and companion June Sorrell. Bill is also survived by his sons, Shawn, and his wife Lori (Behr) Erfmeier and their children, Leyton and Spencer; and Chris, and his wife Missi (Burton) Erfmeier and their children, CJ Burton and his daughter Elaina, and Jon Erfmeier and his son Leo; his brother, Robert (Bob) Erfmeier and his children, Loria, Vince and Curt; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn (Legenhause) Koester and her two children, Jason and Melissa.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 – 6:30 PM Friday, December 16, 2022 at Myers-Reed Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Cemetery.
