

Mr. Shatto retired from Reliance Electric where he was a set-up technician. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Blockade.
He enjoyed dirt track racing, camping, fishing and air boating as well as most outdoor activities.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Mitchell J. Coggin officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Born in Jennings County Oct. 20, 1939, Mr. Shatto was the son of Samuel and Edna Barringer Shatto.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki (Richard) Ogle of Columbus; a son, Eric W. (Nikki Bozarth) Shatto of Columbus; a sister, Judy (William) Tatom of Greenwood; a brother, Fred (Opal) Shatto of Elizabethtown; an aunt, Gertrude Hobbs of Columbus; grandchildren, Brent (Natalie) Ogle, Tyler Ogle, Jarret Shatto and Evan Shatto, all of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Clarissa and Trey Ogle of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Shatto, who died March 9, 2009, and his parents.
