Abigail was born April 9, 1982 to Joan (Benham) Kocur and Rudy Yount. She grew up in Powell, Ohio. She attended Worthington schools and was a graduate of Worthington Kilbourne High School. Abby loved growing plants and gardening. Growing up she was involved in her church and bible school. She was an avid reader. Abby never met a baby or a dog that she didn't want to take in as her own. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a good mom. She was always up for the challenge of cooking for her picky eaters and had the patience of a saint. She loved doing DIY projects, especially with Brian. Abby was a sweet, old soul and was the center of their loving family.
Brian was born September 19, 1978 in Alma, Michigan to Kenneth Sperl and Belinda (Easlick) Grether. He grew up in Ithaca, Michigan and Powell, Ohio. He attended Worthington Schools and was a graduate of Worthington Kilbourne High School. Brian was a talented baseball pitcher in his youth. He had a love of playing board games, and role playing with Dungeons and Dragons. He created a game night with his friends that was a staple in their group. He was a talented writer. He taught himself to type at the age of 8 and he and his friends wrote short detective stories. He recently realized his dream of writing short stories and being a published author. His children and Abby were everything to him. He was a loving husband and father who worked hard and placed his family above all else.
Brian and Abby met when they were young and had a lifelong friendship that eventually turned into love. They were a team.
They loved watching television shows and movies together. Fridays were their days to spend as a couple They loved traveling around Ohio, finding new places to eat and explore. They especially enjoyed hiking in Hocking Hills as a family outing. Their home was always a warm place where people gathered. They welcomed friends and family at all times. Brian and Abby were both employed by the Kroger Company for many years. They were more than husband and wife. They were best friends and partners. Their family was completed when sons Bastion and Lincoln were born.
Bastion Bayne was born on November 12, 2006 in Columbus Ohio. He was an 8th grade student at Worthington's McCord Middle School. Bastion was an avid video game connoisseur, with a strong competitive streak. He had an artistic side and loved drawing. He was a quick learner, especially when it came to reading. He was a natural salesman, which was especially helpful when it came to fundraising for his Boy Scout troop.
Lincoln Arthur was born on May 22, 2009 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 6th grade student at Liberty Elementary School. Lincoln was always on the move, with a gift of gab and endless joy for life. He shared his older brother's love for video games and was almost good enough to beat him. The boys loved their family, their many school and scout troop friends and their dogs.
