

Ada (Mullett) Wilson, age 92, was born August 23, 1920 to the late Sammy and Mary Alice (Duty) Spence at Tomahawk, KY. Ada flew into the waiting arms of Jesus on August 18, 2013.
She was employed in a variety of jobs during her life but is best remembered for her work at the Athens (Majestic) Bakery on Parsons Avenue where she was known as the “Doughnut Lady”.
Ada is predeceased by her first husband, the late John Mullett and her second husband, the late Henry Morris Wilson.
She was also predeceased by 11 Spence siblings: Estil (Margie Hall); Sada (Curt) Maynard; Ernest (Frona Maynard); Cecil; Opal (Haskell) Patrick; Thelma; Edsil (Lovely Patrick, Elba “Bea” Duty, and Jo Jordan); Orville (Victoria Maynard); William Arvin; Bonnie Jean (Bob) Boyd; and Nellie Jane. Also predeceased are her daughters, Toby Jean (Ray) Stepp and Mary Francis (Donnie) Brewer, her stepson, Robert Lee Wilson, her grandson, Kenneth Anthony King (Raleigh) and her granddaughter, Holly Hampton.
Ada is survived by her children: Ethel Deloris (Larry) Hampton, Christine Ruth (Dick Burley) of Florida; Ada G. (Joel) Kent of Worthington and Henry Frank Wilson (Lorena) of Columbus. Also surviving are grandchildren Raymond Morris (Darlene) Stepp and Ruth (Bill) Shubert; David, James and Robbie Burley; Penny Ann Broseghini and Larry Wayne Hampton; Shawn (Cathy) King and George (Chrystal) Brewer; Jonathan (Lisa) Kent and Marissa (Zach) Kent-White; Jamie (Adam) Maynard and David Henry (Nicole) Wilson. She is survived by several great and great-great grandchildren and by her sister, Nadine (Dennis Glen) Farley of Blaine, Ky.
She was fortunate to have many loving friends. Ada’s special friends include Shirley Long of Crum, West Virginia; Beverly and Ken Marcum, Paul and Julia Moore, and Delbert Hartley, all of Columbus and Maudie White of Knoxville, TN. Thanks to the Walter Kirk family for a steady supply of chicken and dumplings for the past 30 years.
She loved all her kin but had a special fondness for Gary Patrick of Inez, Ky who called weekly; Ernest “June Bug” Spence who was her heart; Dennis Farley of Texas who made a special point of visiting when he was in town and always brought her some little treasure; and Little Eddie Spence and Glendine Farley for the joy they brought to her life.
Ada was faithfully loved by the dogs in her life: Danny Boy, Pete, Patsy and Bear.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Schoedinger Midtown Chapel, 229 E. State St., Columbus, OH 43215, where a funeral service will be conducted by Pastor David Stafford at 10:00am Thursday, August 22, 2013. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens at Canal Winchester, Ohio.
