

Agnes Lucille (McVay) Wolfe, age 95, died October 13, 2014 at Westminster Thurber House, Columbus, Ohio. Born August 28, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of Ray F. and Lillian (Tresemer) McVay. 1936 graduate of West High School; graduate of Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio, retired from Defense Construction Supply Center, Columbus, Ohio. Lifetime member of St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church and recipient of St. John's Cross of Honor Award. Past Matron and Life member of former Robert Morris Chapter #372 Order of Eastern Star, having served as secretary for 21 years, and a member of Worthington Chapter #287 OES. Member and past Queen of Thebes Temple #87 Daughters of the Nile, member and past High Priestess of Thea Court #5 Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. Second President (1931) of the Junior Auxiliary of Camp Chase Post #98, American Legion, Past President of former Camp Chase Unit #98 American Legion Auxiliary, as well as Past President of District 12 of the Ohio American Legion Auxiliary in 1960-61. Member of the Memorial Unit #614, American Legion Auxiliary Hilliard, Ohio. Active in other civic , and community groups and recipient of Woman of Character Award (2002) sponsored by the Greater Hilltop Community Development Assn. Preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Ray F. McVay. She is survived by sons, Darrell E., David E. (Glenda), and Ret. Maj. Dwight E Wolfe, her 3 D's; two granddaughters, Chantel Rae Wolfe of Fairhaven, MA., Danielle Elizabeth Wolfe of Jacksonville, Florida; grandson, Daniel Elliott Wolfe of Lewis Center, OH.; one great-granddaughter, Waverley; brother, Don C. (Joan) McVay of Columbus, OH.; nephews, James A. (Cheryl) McVay of Sugar Grove, OH., Daniel (Sharon) McVay of Hilliard, OH.; nieces, Deborah (David) Graff of Canal Winchester, OH., Beverly (William) Gish and Donna McVay of Columbus, OH.; great nieces, Amanda (Bradley) Lister of Canal Winchester, OH. and Megan (Jeremy Linek) Gish of Columbus, OH.; great nephews, Evan Graff of California and Kevin Gish of Columbus, OH., cousins and friends. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday with an OES service at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, where funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, October 16, 2014.
