

Albert James "Jim" Luebbe, age 79, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2016 at his home. Beloved husband of Sally (Schwarzell) Luebbe for over 62 years. Jim and Sally set an example for everyone who knew them of a loving home, continually full of laughter. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who provided both direction and stability to his family. Jim loved baseball, the Cincinnati Reds, OSU football, old westerns, movie and sports trivia and John Wayne. He attended St. Charles Preparatory School, St Thomas Aquinas High School, and The Ohio State University. Jim was a self-motivated businessman who at age 19, started working for his father Albert Luebbe, as a hearing aid specialist. In 1974 he began his real estate career at which he flourished. Within two years he opened his own brokerage, Metro II Realty in Northeast Columbus. Jim had a gift for recognizing talent, (including his own family members) and mentored dozens of new agents who went on to become top producing Realtors. He was an inspiration to many, both in and outside of the real estate business. Beloved father of Chris (Durk) Reese, Joe Luebbe, David (Kristy) Luebbe, Janet (Gary) Lacey. Beloved grandfather of 5 grandchildren, Lindsey (John) McCollor, Amber (Ryan) Moore, Dustin Reese, Britney, Mitchell and Stephanie Luebbe. Great-grandfather to Marlee and Korben McCollor and Nathan, Oliver and Gabriel Moore. Also survived by brother, Jack Luebbe; sister, Dr. Mary Lou Luebbe-(Dave) Gearhart, and many, nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by his father Albert Luebbe, mother Mary Luebbe, and sister Marlene Perez-Perez. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street. His funeral service will be held there on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:30am.
