Alice Faye Wendell (nee Gravely) died peacefully Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Norwich Springs Assisted Living Facility in Hilliard. She married Edward Wendell in 1956 and moved to Columbus from Southern West Virginia. While she worked briefly after the move, most of her life was dedicated to the care and nurturing of children. She took care of her own three children as well as doing childcare in her home. Alice was born to Robert L. and Anna Pearl Gravely on April 25, 1935 in a small mining town near Oak Hill, WV, and was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gray Wendell, as well as her two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Doug) Glassburn, Elaine Schwilk, and Sandy (Chris) Harris as well as her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The Family will receive visitors on Thursday December 21, 2023 from 11AM to 12PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremations by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 where the funeral service will take place at 12PM. Dr. Chris Schwilk will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 West Broad Street, Galloway, Ohio.
