

Anna Margaret Dicke, 97, died August 3, 2012 at Friendship Village of Dublin. Anne was born November 9, 1914 in Marseilles, Ohio to the late Ernest Maud and Sallie Ann Young Uncapher. She graduated from Marseilles High School at 16 and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1935 where she majored in sociology and home economics. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Anne was married to her loving husband in 1938, Vernon A. Dicke, and they were married for 66 years. Vernon died in 2004. They were married in Upper Sandusky where both worked for the Farm Security Administration. Anne was a social worker working with families who were hard-pressed during the Depression. The two bought a farm in Auglaize County and named it Clover Lea. In 1953, they sold the farm and moved to Findlay. Anne was a social worker with Hancock County Children’s Services. She was a founder of one of the first Title XX programs in the nation. She was president of the day care board and president of Findlay Panhellenic. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Findlay, American Association of University Women and Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge player and active in Democratic politics. Survivors include a daughter, Sallie (Roger) Cook of Wooster and a son, David (Kathy) Dicke of Wildwood, Missouri; grandchildren, David (Sarah) Cook of Seattle, Dan (Kim) Cook of Cornelius, North Carolina, Amy (Jon) Bohmann of San Antonio, Texas, John (Holly) Cook of Seattle and Susan (Ramon) Miraflores of Ballwin, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Carter Cook, Jane Cook, Olivia Bradshaw, Martina Bohmann, Ramon Miraflores, Evan Bohmann, Theodore Miraflores, Jack Cook and Gwen Miraflores. A graveside service will be held 1pm, August 8, 2012 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Bob Cochran of First Lutheran Church of Findlay officiating. Remembrances may be given to First Lutheran Church of Findlay, 109 E. Lincoln Street, Findlay, OH 45840 or Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055.
