

Arthur Joseph Shock, Jr., age 82, of Gahanna, passed away December 10, 2015. Born November 27, 1933 in Mahanoy City, PA, to the late Arthur Joseph Shock, Sr. and Gertrude (Hehn) Shock. Also proceeded in death by his brother John (Ellen) Shock, and sisters Loretta (Michael) Kimak, and Margaret (Metro) Malasavage. A Maintenance Engineer, he retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1991 where he redesigned the early warning inclement weather system. After high school, he served proudly as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He earned both his private pilot and commercial airline licenses and volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol. He also volunteered at the Gahanna Senior Center preparing income tax returns and was an amateur photographer at the Columbus Zoo. A devoted family man, he enjoyed woodworking and had the ability to repair anything.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Marjorie Lue Shock, children, Gregory Alan Shock, Janet Marie Halsey, and Paul Joseph (Sandy) Shock; seven grandchildren, Remington Alexander Shock, Adrienne Brianna Shock, Alana Danielle (Brian) Farmer, Brent Arthur (Lindsey) Halsey, Shawn Thomas (Carter) Halsey, Rachel Antoinette (Jimmy) Chaney, and Lauren Dane Shock; four great grandchildren, Caelan Shock, Kassidy Farmer, Kayden Farmer, and Caitlin Halsey; and one sister, Patricia (Leonard) Kolman.
No formal funeral services to be held; arrangements by Schoedinger Northeast Chapel. Interment will be at Green Springs Cemetery.
