Avery Church was born on October 5, 1928 in Pound, VA. Avery was reunited in heaven on Friday, May 26th with father Vollie, mother Virgie, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived and dearly missed by sisters Ina Jean and Sharon, four children Aaron and Vicki Church, Patty Sykes, Debbie Kidd, Steve and Penny Church, 11 grand-children Danny, Rob, Nikki, Steve, Angel, Michelle, Kathy, Jeremy, Matt, Bernadette, and Cris and a multitude of great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Avery served our country in the US Navy and received a WW2 victory medal and good conduct. After military life, he worked until his retirement from the City of Orlando. Avery spent the last 2 years enjoying a return to country life and passed peacefully at home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5-6pm at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232 where a funeral service will follow at 6pm.
