Barbara J. Adams

Barbara Jeanne Baumbusch Adams, age 79, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Kobacker House with her family by her side. She was born September 16, 1935 in Chillicothe, OH, daughter of the late Robert B. and Evelyn (Eblin) Calhoun. She was a retired operator from Ross Labs with over twenty years of service. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister who cherished spending time with her family and loved to travel, music, and dancing. She is survived by her children, John (Sophie) Baumbusch, Mark (Cathy) Baumbusch, Wally (Derri) Baumbusch, Michael J. Baumbusch, Lisa (Ronnie) O'Dell, David P. Baumbusch and Karen Adams Leber, of CA; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers, Dale (Dorothy) Calhoun, FL, and G. Mike (Donna) Calhoun, Chillicothe, OH; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Adams. She was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she formerly sang in the choir. Barbara was active as a volunteer with the Elizabeth Blackwell Center at Riverside Methodist Hospital and the Upper Arlington Senior Center. Friends may call 6-8:30 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270) Worthington. Family will also receive friends from 10:00 -11:00 am Thursday at Bethel United Methodist Church, 1220 Bethel Road, Columbus, OH 43220 where funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 16, 2015.
