
Barbara Joan Krakoff Blair, born November 2, 1932, passed away July 15, 2010, unexpectedly. Survived by sons Bradley (Susie Schottenstein) Blair, Scott (Lori Eisenman) Blair, and Brian Blair; daughter-in-law, Andrea Jones; grandchildren, Daniel, Melissa, Matthew, Shaynah, and Shoshana; brother, Larry (Roberta) Krakoff; her faithful dog, Dylan; as well as countless family, friends, and neighbors. Preceded in death by parents, Dr. Morris and Irene Krakoff; and grandchild, Steven Blair. Barbara grew up in Bexley and graduated from Bexley High School, recently celebrating her 60th reunion. She graduated from The Ohio State University and was a retired employee of the State of Ohio. She formerly worked in the field of early childhood education. She was an active mom and grandma and volunteered at the Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus Museum of Art, and the Central Community House. Barbara was very active in Democratic Party politics and was proud to host neighborhood parties. She was a world traveler, having explored Europe, Africa, Israel, and her favorite island of Nevis. She was also an avid tennis player, and a founding member of the East Side Tennis Club at Wolfe Park. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010, at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St., with Rabbi Michael Ungar officiating. Interment will follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Brad and Susie on Monday and Tuesday, and at the home of Scott and Lori on Wednesday and Thursday.
