Barbara Lanphear Hawk

Barbara Lanphear Hawk, age 81, of Westerville, went to be with the Lord January 21, 2014 at Kobacker House, after a 6-year battle with cancer. She was born on October 1, 1932 in Cleveland, OH. Barb is preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Pearl "Polly" Lanphear. She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Lanphear) Appunn, former husband, Thomas J. Hawk, M.D., and five children: David Hawk, Tom (Patti) Hawk, Bill (Lisa) Hawk, Amy Hawk and Peter (Makeda) Hawk; grandchildren, Hayley, Brandon, Jordan, Jasmine, Luke, Nick and Robbie. A 1951 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and a graduate of Ohio University, taught school in Cleveland and Upper Arlington. Barb enjoyed studying the scriptures, painting and gardening, and was a member of The Way International ministry. Because she had such a tremendous love for her family and friends, Barb will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at New Albany Presbyterian Church, 5220 Johnstown Rd., New Albany. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. Private interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, OH.
