Barbara Jean (Miller) Jenkins

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Jean (Miller) Jenkins, who departed this life on July 16, 2025, at the age of 82. Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.

Born on November 12, 1942, to Cecil Miller and Hazel Grimm, Barbara grew up with a sense of resiliency, strength and compassion that she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Jenkins Jr., with whom she shared many cherished years.

Barbara is survived by her devoted children, Tina (Andrew) McElwain and John (Rhonda) Jenkins, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Shia Santana, Kiersten McElwain, Dalton McElwain, Chase (Taylor) Jenkins, MaKenna Jenkins, and Tatum McElwain, and a joyful great-grandmother to several great-grandchildren who brought her endless delight.

She is also survived by her dear sister, Carol Ziegler, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will remember her for her generous spirit, unwavering love and support, and wisdom.

Barbara's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family will receive friends 10:00 am-11:00 am Monday, July 21, 2025 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by sharing a kind word, a warm hug, or a cherished story with someone you love.
