Barbara J. Singer

Barbara J. Singer, age 77 of Upper Arlington, passed away September 20, 2018. Barbara was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late Morris and Hattie Horwitz. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman M. Singer. Barbara graduated from the University of Miami (Fla.) and had a 37-year teaching career, most recently at Mohawk Jr. High School and Centennial High School. Barbara was a bright, kind, generous and caring person who enjoyed bird watching, water aerobics, and Wii bowling. She was a longtime member of Premier Athletic Club and previously was active in Worthington Community Theater. She will be greatly missed by her loving children, Debra (Johnathan) Singer-Harter and Todd Singer; brother, Stephen (Connie Heenan) Horwitz of Avalon, New Jersey; close friends, Kathy and Allan Burkman, Donna and Carey Gooch, Norene Felzer, Mary Jo Buckingham, Desiree Wren, and Angela Hoerst; faithful canine companion, Trudy; and other dear family members and friends.
