She was the daughter of the late F. Carlton Miner and Bernice Miner. She was born in Springfield, MA on January 2, 1929.
After graduating from Ludlow High School, Barbara attended Bridgewater State University where she became the darling of the school.
She met and married her husband of 28 years Ted Williamson Jr. and they had three children.
Barbara was a stay at home mother and housewife until her children graduated from high school. She entered the workforce and became the Director of the Abbeville S.C. Chamber of Commerce where she won Woman of the Year.
Her cheerfulness and love of people was obvious as she served the community in which she lived. She left the career she loved to care for her first grandchild. One of her greatest joys was being a part of her children's lives and her grandson's lives. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and took much joy in attending their many sporting events. Barbara was happiest when she was near water - at the lake or at the beach with her family. Up until she died she played Words with Friends and Backgammon with many of her friends and family, whom she consistently beat. Barbara's motto was "Life, I love it".
Barbara was a lovely, gracious person and her graciousness extended to all those fortunate enough to have met her. She was the rare person who took a sincere interest in learning about those she met. She will be remembered as a joyful, cheerful woman who touched so many lives, particular the friends of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a bright spot in every life she touched.
Surviving are her children Donna MacAleer (William) of Prosperity S.C., Theodore (Ted) Williamson III (Tina) of Lake Orion, MI and Lynn Asensio (Mike) of Bexley, Ohio: three grandchildren William Gause IV, Matthew Asensio, and Trey Asensio. Also surviving are 3 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her adored sister, Nancy Gannett.
Many thanks to the nurses and staff of Mount Carmel hospice and to Dr. Richard Oberlander for their excellent care and warmth.
A private family funeral service will be held for Barbara Joanna Williamson on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, Gahanna.
Memorials may be made in her name to the American Heart Association
