

Bernadette Mary Burke passed away peacefully at home January 3, 2021. She was born in Leipsic, Ohio on March 23, 1932 to Augustine and Eleanor Schroeder. Bernadette was a devote member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed attending mass at Our Lady of Peace Church. She spent many hours praying for her loved ones and the world. Bernadette had a wide variety of careers during her life. From bookkeeping to home health nurse to working for American Greetings. She was always a very devoted and hard worker. Bernadette also gave great care and love to many foster babies. Bernadette loved her family. She was always there for us. She also loved animals. We had a wide variety of pets. She would help anyone in need, even animals. She raised many baby animals. For example, bunnies, squirrels and pigeons. After they grew up or recovered, they would be released back to nature. Bernadette had many talents and skills. She created beautiful ceramic pieces and often gave them as gifts. Her Mother received many of the lovely ceramic pieces. Bernadette was a wonderful cook. She was known for creating many delicious meals that will be missed by her family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress. Bernadette made her own wedding dress and the wedding dresses for her daughter and daughter-in law. She gave everything to every project. Bernadette is preceded in death by her husband, George Burke, and son, Mike Burke. Her parents, brothers and sisters have also preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter - in law Vickey Burke and her children Catherine Rearick, Patrick Burke and his wife Jennifer, Son Bryan Burke and his wife Deb and their children Matthew Parks, Claire Burke and Abigail Burke, Daughter Jennifer Payne and her husband Michael Payne and their children, Joseph Payne, Christopher Payne and Stephen Payne. The viewing will be at 12:00 noon on Friday January 29, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace Church. The funeral mass will follow the viewing at Our Lady of Peace Church at 1:00. Our Lady of Peace Church 20 E.
